Introducing Jordan Companies, Inc.

Located in Wichita, KS, USA, the company was founded in 1973 by Stephen M. Jordan under the name Jordan Supply Co. The first contracts the company landed were with Sears & Roebuck and Wicks Lumber Co. to install storm windows and doors. The company started advertising to include home improvement sales in the fall of 1974. Continuing with the storm windows and doors market, steel and vinyl siding, guttering, roofing and other exterior improvements were soon added to the company's services. During these early years the owner worked full time for the Wichita City Fire Department and managed the company's sales and growth during his free time.

The oil embargo and energy crisis in the fall of 1975 created a national emergency. Additional insulation contractors were needed to aid in energy conservation. Insulation was an important addition to the company, giving it balance, secure growth, and a large customer base. Winning large government insulation contracts accelerated the growth of Jordan Siding & Insulation Co.

The company incorporated its new name, Jordan Building Company, Inc. in 1983 and demonstrated its ability to take on more sizeable jobs such as gazebos, decks, and room additions while still maintaining solid growth in the vinyl siding, insulation and window/door replacement industry.

The expiration of the "Energy Tax Credits" caused the consumer insulation market to almost completely evaporate. To offset this decline, the company's main focus shifted to the new home insulation market -- building a core of repeat customers. Department managers David Jordan and Steve Jordan Jr. have shown exceptional talent in helping builders build green with high-performance cellulose spray insulation. Jordan Companies, Inc. is proud of the relationships it has built and sustained with local area builders and general contractors.

In May of 2002, a major reorganization of Jordan Building Company, Inc. took place. In order to more fully concentrate on material sales to area contractors, the retail home improvement portion of the company was sold. The new, reorganized company name is Jordan Companies, Inc., operating under the trade names of Jordan Wholesale (material sales) and Jordan Spray Insulation (installed insulation). In 2007, CertainTeed WeatherBoards fiber cement siding was introduced.

The main focus of Jordan Companies, Inc. has always been, and still remains, to provide quality, affordable materials and service to all of our customers.
